Hiking and Camping

For the budget minded Nature lovers, Wonders of Africa will tailor suitable camping safaris to all the national parks listed on this web site. We have two types of camping: Basic and superior camping. On our superior camping safaris tents are larger with beds and bedding. Some of tents have toilet and shower facilities.

Meals are served by our experienced safari cooks. We provide a wide variety of meals to cater for vegetarian and non-vegetarian diets. Special meal requests will be considered. For more details please give us your areas of interest, Number of participants on the trip, duration and we shall give you the price details. You could also join our existing departures.

There are wonderful day hikes in Kenya, up and around the crater of Mt. Longonot outside Nairobi, or through the beauty of the Fourteen Falls, the dramatic 'moonscape' of Lake Magadi, Crescent Island and Lake Naivasha, or across the Ngong Hills. If you are a hiker, we can provide boxed lunches, drop off and pick up, and guided or unguided treks. There are beautiful and rewarding hikes in other regions as well, including the Kakamega Forest out west for bird lovers, or Africa's third highest peak, Mt. Elgon, as well as hikes or horseback riding on Mt. Kenya. At the coast is the Arubuko-Sokoke Forest, or hikes to the spectacular ruins on various islands like Pate and Wasini.
